Travis is a Boise native and teacher of 20 years. He found Starting Strength when looking for ways to help his mom retain her strength in her senior years. They began training at Starting Strength Boise, and the strength gains and social atmosphere helped tremendously with their progress. Now, Travis is the Owner, working as an apprentice, and taking the Coaching Prep Course, Travis is excited to bring his education career and life experience as a son, husband, dad, and grandpa into the gym and help others of all backgrounds see the same life-changing benefits he and his family have.
Sam grew up in Michigan playing sports as a kid, and was first exposed to lifting weights at around 14 years old. For the next decade and a half, he would have no concept of what real progress looked like until finding the Starting Strength Novice Linear Progression. What Starting Strength has done for him, he wants to share with anyone who will listen. This brought him to Boise to coach at the Starting Strength gyms. In his free time, he enjoys training in Jiu Jitsu. Training after the NLP reinforces the value of a strength program for both performance and injury prevention.
