The Starting Strength Coach Credential is the Most Advanced in the Industry

Chris Reis, DPT, discovered Starting Strength in 2021, but his fitness journey began long before that. Chris started as a distance runner, competing in high school and college, before going on to complete multiple marathons, including a personal best of 2:21 in 2011. Chris earned a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and (some years later) graduated as a Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2016. Exploration of the Starting Strength method in his own training as well as incorporating the principles of the method in his PT practice, led to a growing interest in the coaching credential. Chris is passionate about helping people reach their physical potential and unlocking the benefits that strength training can provide. Chris obtained his SSC In May of 2023.

Camisha has been a competitive powerlifter since 2015 and a powerlifting referee since 2020. In 2021 she enrolled in the Starting Strength Coach Development Prep Course with the goal of becoming a Starting Strength Coach. Camisha joined the team at Starting Strength Cincinnati as a coach in May of 2022 with the goal of helping to improve the lives of as many people as possible. Camisha obtained her SSC in December of 2023.

Antonio "Tony" Maldonado began training with the Starting Strength model in 2020. After realizing the benefits the program has to offer, he began coaching family and friends in his garage gym. To further his career as a Coach, Tony moved from the Cleveland area when Starting Strength Cincinnati first opened to coach as an apprentice in the fall of 2021. He completed the coach prep course in late 2022 and achieved his SSC in March of 2024. Tony also has a background in physical therapy as a licensed PTA. He believes everyone can benefit from strength training and loves helping others reach their goals and improve their quality of life.
